Motor camp on the hill at New Plymouth
This popular fishing spot sits below a popular camping ground. Large rocks protect the shore from surf which sometimes pounds the coast, driven by strong easterly winds. In rough weather waves have been known to exceed three metres in height. Fishing is probably one of the most popular pastimes for both young and old. Almost everyone has happy memories of tranquil days spent fishing off the wharf, or from a small boat. Along the Taranaki coastline, there is always a variety of boat charters for some casual fishing. And for the more dedicated angler, there are also boat charters tailor made for big game fishing.
