On Tamaki Drive on Auckland's northeast coast, is the picturesque Mission Bay. With spectacular maritime scenery, a unique cafe culture thrives in this family friendly location. A highlight is the Mission Bay Memorial Fountain, which is made of Sicilian marble. It was gifted to Auckland citizens in 1950, and in the summer months children enjoy using the fountain's pool.

This iconic art deco style mission bay fountain regularly sends water jets as high as 12 metres, and displays a colourful light show at night. The historic Mission House was constructed from volcanic stone brought from Rangitoto. It is now a cafe and restaurant, and also a venue for corporate functions and wedding.
